Catherine Davis has long championed the rights of the unborn to realize all the promises made at the founding of America. When declaring their independence from Great Britain, Georgia, the fourth state to enter the new Republic of the United States of America, agreed that its citizens had a God ordained right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In establishing a government “to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” the Representatives from Georgia agreed all citizens should be able to obtain the protections the Constitution promised.
Although many have chosen to make abortion a political “hot potato”, it is actually a moral issue and should be addressed as such. At the center of the systemic racism and white supremacy experienced in America since 1973, is the practice of abortion that has been used to control the birth rate of Blacks and other minorities. Under the guise that infant life in the womb does not have value, abortion has been used as a weapon, targeting many. Catherine has been successful in exposing this and other deceptive claims such as abortion is women’s “health care”. Families have been impacted and some destroyed by this practice as children have been sacrificed on the alter of convenience and Catherine promises to fight for its end in this state and the nation.
Georgia’s pro-life laws that so many fought to pass to protect women and infant life in the womb, have been painfully ignored leaving women vulnerable to conditions that impact their health and welfare. Because there is no enforcement, it is impossible to know the conditions of the centers and the number of women reproductively and physically harmed. As Governor, Catherine will address this gaping hole in the enforcement of Georgia’s existing life legislation to ensure the will of the people is restored.
